Utility Upgrades

Upgrading Your Gas Pipes
There is a mains gas pipe running underneath your road along with a smaller gaspipe that connects to your building.
These mains gas pipes will be replaced with longer lasting more robust plastic pipes. To accomplish this we will need access to the gas pipes by digging a hole, turning your gas off, replacing the mains gas pipes, then turning your gas back on and finally making good and tidying up.
Whenever possible, we will endeavour to dig as fewer holes as possible and keep disruption to a minimum.
Getting To Your Gas Pipes
Majority of this work will be on the road or pavement. wherever the dig holes are we will erect barriers and signs around the area for your safety.
Disruption will be kept to a minimum where possible but there will be excavation noise and possible parking disruption.
The works may be there for some time but we work in all weathers to complete this necessary work.
Turn Off Supply and Upgrade Pipes
For us to replace your gas pipe we will need to turn off your gas supply. Your Supply will be turned off first thing in a morning around 8am but we will let you know well before hand.
There is a possibility that we will need access to your property during the work so you will need to ensure that adult over the age of 18 is present at your property for the duration of the work.
We have to turn your gas off more than once and even relocate your gas meter. We will not know until we have started the work if this is necessary or not but will inform you if it is before we start the work.
Turning Your Gas Supply Back on
When the works have been finished we will turn your gas supply back on. this can happen up until 8pm.
In the event that you are not home and we have no access to the property we will leave a card with contact details.
If there is a fault with any of your appliances we are unable to reconnect your supply until a Gas Safe Engineer has repaired or replaced the appliance.
Filling The Holes Back In
If we have had to dig on your property then within five working days we will repair, replace or patch them up.
This may take a little longer if your driveway is concrete imprint etc..
Tidying and Cleaning Up
We clean and tidy up afterourselves as we move along your street.
some repairs may look different to the old surface, this is because we have used new materials to effect the repair and in time will ‘weather’ to blend in.
